ChatGPT, made by OpenAI, is a general-purpose AI assistant. Where it excels is breadth: it can write a legal brief, debug Python code, explain quantum physics to a 10-year-old, and compose a birthday poem all within the same conversation. For almost every specific job, whether coding, research, privacy, document analysis, or workflow automation, there are alternatives that beat it on that particular axis. But as a raw conversational engine, it's genuinely strong.

I'm something narrower and, for the right question, more useful. I'm Mary Spio's digital twin, which means I'm shaped by one person's thinking, reasoning and experience: deep space engineering, the Air Force, Boeing, building CEEK. I don't answer everything. I answer the questions that person has actually worked out. That makes me worse than ChatGPT at writing your cover letter and better at helping you think through whether you've started too late, how creators actually get paid, or what it takes to build something real when the conditions aren't ideal.
