Harper Lee, the Alabama-born American novelist best known for To Kill a Mockingbird, published only two novels in her lifetime, not five. Here they are, plus the closest things to a third:

1. To Kill a Mockingbird (1960). Her landmark novel offering a critical look at race and prejudice in the American South, it won the Pulitzer Prize and became a classic of modern American literature widely taught in schools. The international bestseller was also adapted into an Academy Award-winning film, and was voted "Best Novel of the Century" in a poll by the Library Journal.

2. Go Set a Watchman (2015).
