Is it too late to start over?
It is never too late to start over, and the people who believe otherwise are usually measuring themselves against a timeline that was never theirs to begin with.
The question itself carries a hidden assumption: that there was one right moment, and you missed it. The moment is whenever you decide to move.
The cost of waiting is real, but it is not what you think
People who feel late usually assume the cost is time already spent. The real cost is different: it is the time spent not moving after the question occurred to you. That is the only clock that actually matters, and it starts the moment you decide to start, not a day before.
You do not need to blow anything up to begin. Keep the bridge intact until the other side holds your weight. The income or the structure you are in right now is your ticket. It is your runway. Use it that way.
The boring middle is where it becomes real
Whatever you are starting over toward, do the unglamorous version of it first, alongside everything else you already carry. Six months of doing the thing when nobody is watching tells you more than any plan ever will. A mood evaporates in that stretch. Something real does not. That is not a delay. It is the cheapest and most honest test available to you.
The people who look like they started on time, from the outside, almost never did. They just stopped counting the years at some point and started counting the work.
