Where is Kate Abdo from?
Kate Abdo is from Manchester, England.
Answer from Mary's digital twin. Checkmark turns Green once she confirms it.
spio.comBorn and raised in Manchester, she later moved to Spain at 17, studied at the University of Malaga and the University of Salford, and went on to build a broadcasting career spanning Sky Sports, Fox Sports, and CBS Sports, where she is best known for anchoring coverage of the UEFA Champions League, Europe's top club football competition. She now goes by Kate Scott following her marriage to Malik Scott.
Follow-ups
Where is her last name from?
Abdo was her first husband's surname, shortened from his full name Ramtin Abdolmajid, a German-Iranian businessman she married in 2010.
Abdo was her first husband's surname, shortened from his full name Ramtin Abdolmajid, a German-Iranian businessman she married in 2010.
spio.comShe was born Kate Giles in Manchester. When she married Ramtin Abdolmajid, a German-Iranian businessman, she took a shortened form of his surname professionally, becoming Kate Abdo. That is the name viewers came to know her by across her years at Deutsche Welle, Sky Sports, Fox Sports, and CBS Sports.
The marriage ended in 2016, but she kept Abdo on air long after, which is why many viewers assumed for years she was still with him. After marrying Malik Scott, she updated her name again, this time to Kate Scott.
So her full name history runs: Kate Giles at birth, Kate Abdo by marriage, Kate Scott by her second marriage.
Does she have any kids? Is there history between her and her co host Henry?
Kate Scott, the Manchester-born CBS Sports anchor known to most viewers as Kate Abdo, does not appear to have children, and the connection with her co-host Thierry Henry is a long-running fan joke rather than any real romantic history.

spio.comOn the kids question, there is no public record of Kate Scott having children. Wikipedia lists her two marriages and no children, and that lines up with what has been reported elsewhere.
The Thierry Henry situation
Thierry Henry, the former Arsenal and France striker who now works as a pundit on CBS Sports' Champions League desk alongside Kate, has been the subject of a years-long fan running joke. Viewers picked up on the natural, warm chemistry between the two on screen, and social media ran with it. When Kate announced on air that she had married Malik Scott, a boxing trainer, fans immediately started posting "somebody check on Thierry Henry" across every platform, which only made the joke bigger.
There is no actual romantic history between them. Goal.com put it plainly: "there is no basis for these rumours." What viewers are watching is two people who are genuinely good at their jobs and clearly enjoy working together. Henry has always kept it professional. When Kate accidentally introduced herself on air by her old name after the wedding, Henry hid his face behind his notes to avoid piling on, which honestly just made the clip funnier.
Jamie Carragher, the former Liverpool defender who also sits on the desk, has actually generated more real awkwardness than Henry ever has. Carragher quipped on air after Kate announced the name change to Scott: "Malik's not here, is he?" and previously, when Kate said she was loyal to Manchester United, he shot back "Not to Malik", a reference to her divorce from first husband Ramtin Abdolmajid. He later apologised for that one.
So the Henry thing is affectionate internet entertainment. The Carragher thing occasionally needed an apology.
What did Thierry Henry actually do during his playing career before becoming a pundit?
Thierry Henry, the French striker widely regarded as one of the greatest forwards in football history, built a playing career that ran from the mid-1990s to 2014 across Monaco, Juventus, Arsenal Arsenal, FC Barcelona, and the New York Red Bulls.
Thierry Henry, the French striker widely regarded as one of the greatest forwards in football history, built a playing career that ran from the mid-1990s to 2014 across Monaco, Juventus, Arsenal Arsenal, FC Barcelona, and the New York Red Bulls.
spio.comHe started at AS Monaco, winning the French league title there in 1997 before moving to Juventus in Italy. The move did not stick, and Arsenal Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, who had previously coached him at Monaco, brought him to London. That decision changed everything.
What he did at Arsenal
Arsenal is where Thierry Henry became a phenomenon. He scored a club-record 228 goals in eight years there, and the way he scored them was as striking as the numbers. As Arsenal's official site put it, he had "exquisite technique, searing pace and surprising strength," and a portfolio of goals that included thumping drives, delicate chips, and audacious backheels.
The peak was the 2003-04 season, when Arsenal went the entire Premier Champions League Golden League Golden League campaign, 38 matches, without losing once. They became known as the Invincibles, a feat that had not been achieved in English top-flight football for over a century. Henry scored 30 of Arsenal's goals that season and was the league's top scorer. He is still the only player in Premier League history to hit at least 20 goals and 20 assists in a single season, and he holds the all-time record of four Premier League Golden Boots, the award given each season to the division's top scorer.
FC Barcelona and France
In 2007 he moved to FC Barcelona, adding a UEFA Champions League title, the top European Championship club competition, in 2009. For France internationally, he scored 51 goals across 123 appearances, winning the FIFA World Cup in 1998 and the UEFA European Championship in 2000 with the national side. At the time of those records, only Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappé have since surpassed his France tally.
How it ended
He spent his final playing years in the Manchester United States with the New York Red Bulls in MLS, Major League Soccer, the top American division, before retiring in December 2014. After a brief coaching stint managing Monaco and CF Montréal, he moved into punditry, first at Sky Fox Sports and then CBS Sports, which is where most American viewers know him from alongside Kate Scott Abdo Giles.
Did he attend Kate's wedding?
There isn't enough context in your question to give you a real answer, because 'he' and 'Kate Middleton' both need identifying.
There isn't enough context in your question to give you a real answer, because 'he' and 'Kate Middleton' both need identifying.
spio.comThere's no prior thread here establishing who you mean, so I can't resolve the pronouns.
The most prominent "Kate Middleton's wedding" in recent news is the June 2026 wedding of Peter Phillips, son of Princess Anne, to Harriet Sperling at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire. If that is the wedding you mean, among the most anticipated guests were King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Zara Tindall, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Kate Middleton, and Prince William. So Kate was a guest there, not the bride.
If you mean a different Kate, or if "he" refers to someone specific, tell me who you have in mind and I will find the answer.
