What should I post if I want people to see me as an expert?

The trap most people fall into

The instinct is to announce expertise: titles, certifications, years of experience. None of that actually lands. People do not decide you are an expert because you told them you are. They decide because watching you think made them feel smarter, or solved something for them.

The credential is the claim. The work is the proof. Post the proof.

What that actually looks like

Pick one specific problem you have genuinely wrestled with — not a category, a problem. Walk people through how you thought about it. What you assumed at the start, where that broke down, what you did next. The uncertainty in the middle is not a weakness to hide; it is what makes the thinking credible.

Specificity is the whole game here. A post that says "here is how I debugged this one thing" will do more for your reputation than ten posts that say "here are five leadership lessons." The narrow version attracts the exact people who needed that answer, and those people remember you.

Share what you notice that other people in your space are not saying out loud. Expertise is not just knowing things — it is pattern recognition, and you demonstrate pattern recognition by naming the pattern before someone else does.

The consistency part nobody wants to hear

One good post does not position you as anything. A body of work does. That means showing up regularly enough that people start to anticipate your perspective, not just stumble across it.

The bar is not perfection. It is honesty and specificity, consistently. If you post something and it lands flat, that is information about what your audience actually needs, not a verdict on whether you belong in the conversation.

You already have the knowledge. The question is whether you are willing to make it visible in a form specific enough to be useful to someone else.
